Brief info
Jan Waltmans was born in 1963. He studied law at Tilburg University and subsequently worked as a diplomat in eight countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
He served three years as ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon. There he became a friend of the LMTA and an active hiker. Currently he is board member of the Stichting the Lebanon Mountain Trail Foundation, helping to promote Lebanon as a hiking and tourist destination, while contributing to sustainable financing for its public-benefit objectives and long-term support for the LMT and its communities.
Jan is currently a guest lecturer specialized in international relations and devotes his free time to sports, travelling, friends and relatives.
