Brief info
Wim Balvert was born in 1962. He has been married to Roos for more than 40 years; they have two clever daughters and two beautiful granddaughters.
Wim joined the first thru hike on the Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT) in 2009 and has been back for more on a regular basis. The term “ambassador” has jokingly been coined for him, a role he has proudly embraced in promoting the LMT in the Netherlands in this role. Wim is also currently the chairman of the Lebanon Mountain Trail Foundation, helping to build a solid financial foundation to advance its public-benefit objectives and provide long-term support for the LMT and its communities.
Apart from hiking and nature, Wim enjoys performing arts and the occasional museum visit, a good book, as well as a good conversation with friends.
